Senate names president-elect

At its first meeting of the year, the University Faculty Senate chose a new president-elect and made clarifications and changes to its procedures.

Michael Keefe, associate professor of mechanical engineering, was chosen president- elect of the University Faculty Senate and will take office next fall. The current senate president is Robert Carroll, professor of plant and soil sciences.

In other action, the senate passed measures changing the terms of the vice president and secretary to two years, establishing reapportionment authority and procedures and revising language in the Faculty Handbook for consistency.
