The National Housing Endowment is the philanthropic arm of NAHB, and this scholarship named after the UD associate professor emeritus of urban affairs and public policy is designed to support the next generation of leaders in housing.
The scholarship is awarded to a student who exemplifies the Delaware builder and developer and his commitment to public service and community improvement. Through his work with NAHB, Fannie Mae, the AFL-CIO Housing Investment Trust, the National Housing Conference, the Home Builders Association of Delaware and his many years teaching in the former College of Urban Affairs and Public Policy, Gilman helped define appropriate housing policy alternatives for the United States.
