COVERAGE FOR DEPENDENT CHILDREN REMINDER

Employees frequently ask about their children's coverage, sometimes after a child has aged-out of the program. Worse, they may learn after incurring medical or dental bills that there is no coverage. Here's a reminder: Except for the BCBSD Basic plan, all other medical, dental and dependent life insurance plans provide coverage until the end of the calendar year in which your dependent child attains age 21, OR, if he or she is a full-time student, to the end of the month in which he/she attains age 24.
