New Name For BCBSD Managed Care Plans
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Delaware (BCBSD) will consolidate its managed care plans, Independent Practice Association (IPA) and Staff Model HMO, into one plan called BlueCARE, effective July 1, 1998. IPA and HMO participants will automatically be enrolled in BlueCARE and will receive identification cards prior to July 1.
Former HMO participants can continue using the Health Care Center at Christiana, as well as many other providers who are part of the BlueCARE network. They will also enjoy virtually the same benefits with BlueCARE. (Exception: BlueCARE includes a $15 co-pay for routine OB/GYN visits.)
