Safety training
The Department of Occupational Health and Safety is presenting training sessions during May.

"Laser Training," 3-4 p.m., Monday, May 4;

"Right-to-Know/General Employees," 9-10 a.m., Wednesday, May 13;

"Trenching/Shoring," 9-10 a.m., Tuesday, May 19; and

"Scaffolding," 9-10 a.m., Thursday, May 21.

All sessions will take place in Room 130 of the General Services Building.

The University of Delaware will host the America East Softball Tournament Friday-Sunday, May 1-3, at Delaware Diamond.

Tournament passes are $10 for adults and $5 for students. Daily tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students.

Tickets will be available at the gate.

The America East Baseball Championship will be held Thursday-Saturday, May 14-16, at Daniel S. Frawley Stadium in Wilmington. Tournament passes are $15. Daily passes are $6 for adults/$3 for students. Tickets will be available May 1 at the Frawley Stadium box office.

Chili Cook Off
Aetna Hose, Hook & Ladder Co. will host its second annual Chili Cook Off and Family Festival from noon- 5 p.m., Saturday, May 9, at the central fire station on Route 273 in Newark.

The chili competition will feature various styles of the bean meal prepared by contestants. Judges will award cash prizes in several categories.

IEEE seminar
The Computer Society of the Institute of Electronic and Electrical Engineers (IEEE), Delaware Bay Section, will hold a seminar from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Saturday, May 30, at the University Center, Room A, Widener University, Chester, Pa.

Julie Frank, professor of graduate electrical engineering, will speak on "Multimedia Technology and Systems: Learn What Makes Multimedia Tick."
