Program offers range of services for faculty, staff
The Faculty and Staff Assistance Program (FSAP) offers a variety of services throughout the year for faculty and staff.
Lunch and learn
Lunch and Learn programs are designed to help individuals maintain a healthy, holistic lifestyle-mentally, emotionally, spiritually and physically. A minimum enrollment is required for each program. To register, call 831-2414 or send e-mail to Darlene.Sharp@mvs.udel.edu
Parenting techniques
Raising children is one of life's most wonderful experiences, but it can be both challenging and frustrating. We must employ sensitivity and a sensible approach to responsibly raise self-assured and happy children.
This three-part series will explore techniques for communicating with children, focus on discipline vs. punishment and discuss how to set goals for children and the family.
Dates: Thursdays, May 7, 21 and 28
Time: noon-1:30 p.m.
Location: Room 130 General Services Building
Deadline: Thursday, April 30
Discussion groups
The Faculty and Staff Assistance Program can help organize professionally-led or participant-led discussion groups on various topics. All discussion groups meet monthly. Decisions regarding speakers and other activities are made by the group. Staff support will be provided by the FSAP. A minimum of 10 persons must be preregistered to start a group.
The dates and time of group meetings will accommodate the schedules and needs of the group members as much as possible.
The purpose of the group is to provide information and support to those sharing mutual interests.
Workshops on request
Session leaders are available to lead groups and present workshops on a variety of work, family and personal issues to departments and groups upon request.
For further information, call 831-2414.
Lending library
Books, pamphlets and videos may be borrowed from the FSAP resource library. Call 831-2414 to speak with a staff member or to use any of the these resources.
The library is open daily from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Resources are available in a number of areas, including anger control, eating disorders, eldercare, gay and lesbian issues, grief, bereavement, losses, parenting, substance abuse and self-esteem.
