Health, humor in Gore Hall

Employees are invited to laugh along with well-known comedian and "all-around fun chick," Cindy Eaton, AS '85, in "Laughter Is Good Medicine," from noon-1 p.m., Friday, May 8, in Room 103, Gore Hall.

Sponsored by the Employee Wellness Center and Faculty and Staff Assistance Program, the program costs $10 Wellness Dollars, and preregistration is required by calling 831-8388.

According to Marianne Carter, Employee Wellness Center, the idea behind the comedy program is to recognize that humor plays a positive role in a balanced life and is beneficial in such areas as stress reduction.

Eaton, who majored in communication, has earned kudos for her performances at several colleges, from the University of Maine to the Savannah College of Art and Design. She also has performed in clubs, theatres and on television.

As one reviewer wrote in What's So Funny, Eaton "has her own unique stamp as she's just plain funny...[and] exhibits a wonderful sense of timing and an ability to touch on common ground with all audience members."
