Scandal School' to open

University of Delaware master's degree students Michele Tauber of Long Branch, N.J., and Steve Cardamone of Malvern, Pa., star as Lady Sneerwell and Snake in The School for Scandal.

The University's Professional Theatre Training Program will presents Richard Brinsley Sheridan's outrageous play, The School for Scandal, beginning at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, April 23. Other performances- beginning at the same time-will be held on Friday, April 24, Tuesday, May 5, Wednesday, May 6, and Saturday, May 9. There also are two matinee performances at 12:30 p.m., Sunday, April 26, and Saturday, May 2.

Thought by many to be the greatest English comedy, The School for Scandal includes an assembly of scandal-mongers led by Lady Sneerwell and Benjamin Backbite. Together, these characters circulate rumors that create a web of gossip and intrigue.

All performances are held in Hartshorn Hall. Tickets for Friday and Saturday evening shows are $15 for the general public, $13 for UD faculty, staff and senior citizens and $8 for students. For the weeknight performances, tickets are $14 for the general public, $12 for faculty, staff and senior citizens and $6 for students. The matinee and Sunday evening performances are $12 for the general public, $10 for faculty, staff and senior citizens and $5 for students.
