Michael T. Klein, Elizabeth Inez Kelley Professor of Chemical Engineering, has been named dean of the College of Engineering at Rutgers University, effective Sept. 1.
A summa cum laude graduate of UD in 1977, Klein received his doctorate from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He joined the Delaware faculty in 1981.
During his career, Klein has served as chairperson of the Department of Chemical Engineering, associate dean of the College of Engineering and director of the Center for Catalytic Science and Technology.
Klein received a Presidential Young Investigator Award from the National Science Foundation in 1985 and has published extensively in professional journals.
He has served as associate editor of Energy and Fuels since 1992.
