In addition, JAM3 on Saturday, March 28, will feature Rated R, Doc B, Bizzy Boy, Evil E, Noj and DJ Gus (from Brooklyn). The cost is $4 and doors open at 9 p.m. Saturday, March 28, at the Carpenter Sports Building.
The artists will sell recordings of their music and other items during these events.
WVUD's programming features all types of music, from classical and jazz to folk, hip-hop, cutting edge and blue grass.
During the Radiothon, many shows will host special DJs and guests, interviews with artists and in-studio performances.
Other programs include sports, with extensive coverage of UD athletics-football, basketball, ice hockey and, for the first time this spring, lacrosse. Broadcasts of AP Network news, community and public interest issues, business, health notes and Crazy College also are offered.
The array of programs appeals to a large and varied audience.
During the Radiothon, CDs, tickets to professional sporting events, T-shirts, mouse pads and other items will given away for pledges. The tradition of "Dream Hours" will continue: For $60, contributors can be disc jockeys for 60 minutes. UD students are welcome to use their Flex accounts for pledges.
The 1998 goal for the WVUD Radiothon is $40,000, which is used for equipment, supplies and day-to-day operation. It is not used for staff salaries.
Volunteers, both students and other members of the community, are needed for the Radiothon to help with phone pledges and to assist at concerts.

WVUD serves both the University and the region with a primary coverage area of nine miles and a secondary coverage of 15 miles, extending across all of northern Delaware and into Pennsylvania and Maryland.
The station offers educational experiences in communication, broadcasting and production. and trains UD students in these fields.
