The Delaware Diamonds placed second in the country at the the United States Figure Skating Association Nationals in San Diego last weekend. Four University of Delaware teams competed in the event. To qualify, each team had to place among the top four positions in the Eastern Regionals, held in Massachusetts during the end of January.
Representatives of the four participating UD teams include (from left) Megan Lynam, Skating Edge, Junior Division (fourth in regionals, 11th in nationals); Heather Niblick, Precisionaires, Senior Division (fourth in regionals, 12th in nationals); Amy Rogers, Diamondaires, Adult Open Division (second in regionals, seventh in nationals); and Betty Garvin, Delaware Diamonds, Masters Division (first in regionals, second in nationals). At 8 p.m., Monday, March 30, ESPN is planning to broadcast highlights of the competition.
