RAPE AGGRESSION DEFENSE
For Women Only

In an instructors' class for RAD, Public Safety officers
David Bartolf and David Finnie simulate an assault.
What is Rape Aggression Defense? RAD is a female self-defense program designed to help prevent sexual assaults and rapes. The program is designed for the average woman who chooses to use the option of physical self-defense. It is free to all female students, faculty, and staff (full- or part-time).

RAD is taught by certified instructors and is endorsed by the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators. The course, while physically and mentally challenging, is taught in a friendly atmosphere. It covers the following areas:

Awareness - Awareness and risk reduction including such issues as home and personal safety, date rape, carrying mace and/or other weapons.

Technique - Self-defense techniques that can be used in a variety of confrontational situations.

Simulation - Realistic simulation of a personal attack where officers, dressed in padded equipment, give class participants the opportunity to practice their self-defense techniques.
