Very good knowledge of refrigeration systems; good knowledge of the use of leak detectors, refrigerant charging methods and procedures and systems analysis; ability to work with all refrigeration and A/C equipment under 20 tons capacity; use of refrigerant recovery systems and disposal of refrigerants. Knowledge of pipe fitting with relation to the carrying of high pressure steam, hot water and chill water. Ability to use meters and test equipment in the trouble shooting and repair of a HVAC/R system; ability to work from complex diagrams and drawings relating to HVAC/R. Must be safety oriented. Ability to work in areas of high voltage. Knowledge of sheet metal work as it relates to air ducts. Good physical condition; ability to lift minimum of 50 pounds; full use of both arms, hands, legs and feet; work in cramped areas and positions for extended periods of time, climb ladders and work above floor level and/or in pits. Good manual coordination and dexterity. Completion of high school, vocational school or equivalent; four years' practical field experience as a HVAC/R mechanic as it relates to the maintenance and repair of commercial HVAC/R systems, including all types of ATC controls (pneumatic, electrical, electronic). Certificate of completion as a Type I and II technician as required by 40 CFR Part 82, Subpart F, of the Federal Clean Air Act. Experience in the maintenance and repair of domestic, commercial and industrial refrigeration systems and satisfactory completion of four years' R.S.E.S. (Refrigeration Service Engineer Society) program or equivalent. Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator's license. Non allergic to solvents, gases and chemicals commonly associated with refrigerant equipment; handling and storage of high pressure gases. DEADLINE: March 23.
