Hens to play Friday night

UD defeated Boston University, 66-58, in a hotly contested basketball championship game, Saturday, March 7, to capture the America East title and earn an invitation to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Tournament.

The Blue Hens (20-9), no. 15 seed, will be pitted against the Purdue Boilermakers (26-7), no 2 seed and third in the Big 10 final standings. They will meet in the opening round of the NCAA Midwest Regional, 7:55 p.m. (EST), Friday, March 13, in Chicago's United Center. CBS will air the game. The entire game will be broadcast by WVUD, 91.3 FM, with pregame beginning at approximately 7:45 p.m.

This will be the Blue Hens third trip to the NCAA Tournament, the first since 1992-93.
