A lecture series on women's health issues is planned each Monday in March. The talks, free and open to the public, will all be held from 3:30-6 p.m. in Room 006 of the Willard Hall Education Building.
The series, "Women's Health: Politics and Power," opens on March 2 when Bethany Hall-Long, nursing, will discuss "Multicultural Issues in Women's Health."
On March 9, Deborah Lightsey, director of the breast and cervical cancer progam, Delaware division of public health, and Joanne Baker, administrator of the family planning program, Delaware division of public health, will talk on "Women's Health Policy: Current Federal and State Initiatives."
Marian Palley, political science and international relations, will speak on "A Women's Health Agenda for the 21st Century," on March 16.
On March 23, Shelly Provost-Craig, health and exercise sciences, will speak on "Women and Wellness: Exercise and Nutrition Research."
The series concludes on March 30 when Walid Afifi, communication, will speak on "Communication Implications in Women's Health: Two Cases: Physician Patient Interactions and Sexual Decision Making."
The series also can be taken as a one-credit course in women's studies or nursing. For more information call, 831-8362.
