Gore Hall at a Glance
A new overpass, designed to match the architecture of Gore Hall,
connects the new classroom building to Smith Hall.

- Project architect: Allan Greenberg & Associates Washington, D.C., and New Haven, Conn.
- Building size: Approximately 65,000 gross square feet
- Construction manager: EDiS of Wilmington
- Building usage: Classes are scheduled from 8 a.m. through 10 p.m., Mondays through Fridays. There are over 200 sections scheduled in Gore Hall this spring, representing 43 different subject areas. All colleges and most departments are represented in the building this semester.
- Location: The Mall-the first addition to the heart of the campus since 1961
- Total seating capacity:1,225
- Total project cost: $17.5 million
- Building occupancy: 25 general purpose classrooms and the Center for Teaching Effectiveness
- Classroom distribution: Four seminar rooms (20 seats each); three tiered case study rooms (75 seats each); one discovery-based learning classroom (72 seats); 17 general classrooms with seat counts ranging from 20 to 80
- Instructional technology: All classrooms have built-in projection screens, campus network connections, campus TV connections and built-in audiovisual equipment appropriate for the size and type of classroom.
