College of Engineering to mark week of celebration

The College of Engineering will mark National Engineers Week from Feb. 22-28, with several events, beginning with a "Doughnuts and Bagels with the Dean" reception from 9-10:30 a.m., Monday, Feb. 23, in the lobby of Colburn Laboratory. The event is for College of Engineering faculty, staff and students.

Other events include Engineering PRIDE T-shirt Day, on Tuesday, Feb. 24, and a teleconference from 1-2 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 25, in 311 Pearson Hall, on "Discover Engineering! Turning Ideas into Reality." Teleconference seating is limited, call Ann Raymond at 831-6315 to make a reservation.

The Order of the Engineer Ring Ceremony will be held from 6:30-7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 25, in 204 Evans Hall. On Thursday, Feb. 26, the Society of Women Engineers will introduce young women high school students to the opportunities and challenges of engineering careers in a full day program from 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. That evening, at 6 p.m., the Delaware Council of Engineering Societies will present its 98 Engineers Week Celebration in the Crystal Ballroom of the DuPont Country Club. On Friday, Feb. 27, the college will mark Dress for Engineering Corporate Success Day, when professional business attire will be worn in the workplace.
