The season includes the masterworks of dramatic literature Oedipus Rex, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Two Gentlemen of Verona and The Merry Wives of Windsor. All performances, by graduate students in the three-year conservatory program, are held in Hartshorn Hall. Evening performances begin at 7:30 p.m. and matinees are at 12:30 p.m. Tickets range from $5-$15.
Back by popular demand, Oedipus Rex opens the season on Monday, Oct. 20. Other evening productions of this classic Greek tragedy are scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 21; Wednesday, Oct. 22; Thursday, Oct. 23; and Saturday, Oct. 25; and there also is a matinee scheduled at 3 p.m. on Oct. 25.
Feuding fairies and magically mismatched lovers fill the forest in Shakespeare's bewitching comedy, A Midsummer Night's Dream. Evening performances are scheduled on Thursday, Nov. 20; Friday, Nov. 21; Saturday, Nov. 22; Friday, Dec.5; Saturday, Dec. 13; and again in January.
Matinees are scheduled on Saturdays, Nov. 22 and Dec. 13.
Two Gentlemen of Verona, a rollicking comedy of inconsistent love, erratic friendship and generous forgiveness, can be seen in the evenings on Wednesday, Dec. 3; Thursday, Dec. 4; Saturday, Dec. 6; and Friday, Dec. 12; and at a matinee on Saturday, Dec. 6. Additional performances are scheduled in January.
Playing from December into February, is The Merry Wives of Windsor, a boisterous circus of lust and greed with Falstaff as its ringmaster. December performances are scheduled for the evenings of Wednesday, Dec. 10; Thursday, Dec. 11; and Saturday, Dec. 13. A matinee is planned on Sunday, Dec. 14.
