Phone repairs All administrative telephone repair requests should be called into the Help Center at 831-6000. All student telephone repairs should be called into maintenance at 831-1141. Town meeting The city of Newark has invited the public and all members of the University community to a meeting to continue the development of a vision for downtown Newark. "The Heart of Our Community" meeting is scheduled from 6-7:30 p.m., Monday, Sept. 15, in the Municipal Building Council Chambers, 220 Elkton Rd.The event is sponsored by the city of Newark, the Newark Business Association and the University of Delaware.
Crafters wanted Space is available for crafters to present their work at the UD Women's Club annual holiday sale, to be held Nov. 20-22 in the Trabant University Center. Tables are free, but exhibitors must donate 20 percent of their income to the UD Women's Club Scholarship Fund.Call 836-4585 for information.
Diabetes Walk Walk for the Cure, a fundraiser to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, will be held Sunday, Sept. 21, Tower Hill School in Wilmington. Individuals and teams are able to participate and help reach this year's $160,000 goal.Check-in time is from 8:30-9:30 a.m. The 3- and/or 5-mile walk begins at 9:30 a.m. and will be held through Brandywine and Rockford Parks.

Open house Faculty members are invited to an open house at 3 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 24, in the Morris Library. Participants should meet in the Class of 1941 Lecture Room. All interested academic professional staff members also are welcome to attend. More details will be available soon.
Library hours Regular fall semester Morris Library hours through Nov. 25 are 8 a.m.-midnight, Mondays through Thursdays; 8 a.m.-8 p.m., Fridays; 9 a.m.-8 p.m., Saturdays; and 11 a.m.-midnight, Sundays.Special Collections and Exhibition Gallery hours during the fall semester are 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Mondays, and Wednesdays through Fridays; and 9 a.m.-8 p.m. on Tuesdays.

CONTACT help Volunteers are needed to staff the Contact Delaware Crisis Helpline, its Rape Crisis program and its Reassurance phone call program to the elderly, persons with disabilities and persons who are homebound.Fall training classes begin Sept. 13.

Shuttle to D.C.
