The new computer training site includes 38 computer stations and a high-speed network connection to the UD main computing network. The site is central to New Castle County, is easily accessible from I-95 and has ample free parking.
The new facility will replace facilities previously housed at the Wilcastle Center on the UD Wilmington Campus. The Wilcastle Center, slated for demolition in late February, has served as the Division of Continuing Education's primary computer education site for many years.
UD continuing education computer programs annually serve more than 3,000 students in more than 450 course offerings, including a computer applications certificate program, a webmaster certificate program and many short courses in personal and business-related software applications.
A second new site, the Wilmington Downtown Center, is scheduled to open in September and will house additional computer classrooms.
