Concert to feature new work

Acclaimed television journalist and producer Linda Ellerbee and best-selling author and business innovator Tom Peters will be among the featured presenters for an interactive satellite video conference on "The Women's Millennium: Changing the Way We Do Business," scheduled from 1-4:30 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 4. The University will host a live downlink of the conference at Clayton Hall.

Designed to highlight and explore the opportunities offered by the growing influence of women in business and the marketplace, the conference also will feature author and educator Stephanie Coontz, gender communications specialist Pat Heim, editor-in-chief of Working Mother magazine Judsen Culbreth, and author and CEO Heather Shea. This conference is recommended for all professionals who wish to gain new vision into increasing profit potential, gaining competitive advantage or creating a more positive work environment.

The conference will address such topics as the compatibility of business and family needs, women as "business opportunity #1" and overcoming cultural and gender differences in communication. Acknowledging that women represent an increasing percentage of the total workforce and are already the primary financial decision-makers in their households will be the focus through which many other issues are discussed.
