Founded in 1958, the UD Library Associates Inc. works to expand and enrich the research collection of the University Library through gifts from individual members, funds raised through programs and donations of significant books.
Each year the associates provide contributions to acquire rare library material, to sponsor an opening reception and to hold an exhibition publication to promote the library's Special Collections. Additionally, the group supports a June lecture program in the Morris Library featuring the research of a UD faculty member, and it holds an annual dinner that includes a presentation by an author of regional or national acclaim.
Members receive a semiannual newsletter, exhibition catalogs and a journal called Collections, which is published on an occasional basis.
Library Associate memberships are actively solicited. To request a printed membership brochure, send e-mail to UDLA@mvs.udel.edu or call 831-2231.
Membership information also is available by selecting University of Delaware Library Associates from the library's web page at http://www.lib.udel.edu
