Lambert Cup winners aim for I-AA finals

The UD Fightin' Blue Hens football team earned all five first-place votes in the final season poll to capture the Lambert Cup/ Meadowlands Trophy, signifying supremacy in Eastern college football.

This marks the 16th time the Blue Hens have received the honor since the trophy's inception in 1957. At 11:30 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 13, Delaware continues its quest to capture the I-AA national football championship as the Hens host visiting McNeese State in a semifinal tournament game in Delaware Stadium.

A taped televsion broadcast of Saturday's playoff game will be shown at 8 p.m., Monday, Dec. 15, on UDTV Channel 48.
