The University of Delaware Wind Ensemble, directed by Robert J. Streckfuss, music, will present a free concert at 8 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 7, in the Loudis Recital Hall of the Amy E. du Pont Music Building.
The concert will feature a new composition, Concertino for Four Percussion and Wind Ensemble by David Gillingham, which premiered in Austria at the 1997 World Association of Symphonic Bands and Ensembles.
Percussion soloists are Joseph Orlowski, Tomoko Azuma, Jon Whitney and Matt Watson.
The program also includes Color by Bob Margolis, with guest conductor Ben Ables; Suite in F for Military Band by Gustav Holst, with guest conductor John Mayer; The Little Threepenny Music by Kurt Weill; and Masquerade by Vincent Persichetti.
The concert is sponsored by the Department of Music.
