Smoke Out Nov. 20
The annual Great American Smoke Out will take place on Thursday, Nov. 20, and the Employee Wellness Center wants to help those willing to quit for 24 hours.

Employees who drop off their cigarettes by 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 19, at the Wellness Center-located in 112 Carpenter Sports Building-will receive a "survival kit" (a bag with stop-smoking information, chewing gum, etc.) to help them make it through the day.

All participants will be entered into a drawing. This year's theme is: "NO IFS, ANDS OR BUTTS (just for 24 hours)." There is no cost to participate.

Parking schedule
University pay parking lots will observe the following schedule during Thanksgiving break.

The Visitors Center and Russell area lots will be open from 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 26. The Main Street Parking Garage will be open from 5:30 a.m.-11 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 26.

All lots will be closed from Thursday, Nov. 27, through Saturday, Nov. 29.

The Main Street Parking Garage will resume regular hours, 7 a.m.-2 a.m., Sunday, Nov. 30. The Visitors Center and Russell area parking lots will resume regular hours, 7:30 a.m.-10:30 p.m., Monday, Dec. 1.

Coast Day '98
Plans are already under way for the 1998 Coast Day celebration. Next year, the event will be held on Sunday, Oct. 4. Those interested can find out information throughout the year on the web at www.mast.udel.edu

Nominations sought
Members of the University community are encouraged to submit nominations for the 1998 Alumni Wall of Fame inductees and for six positions for the Alumni Association Board of Directors.

The Wall of Fame recognizes outstanding professional and/or public service achievements of UD alumni. Those selected will be honored in the spring of 1998.

Three men and three women are needed to serve as active volunteers for three-year terms on the alumni board. New members will begin their terms July 1.

Deadline for all nominations is Dec. 1.

Garden help
The New Castle County Master Gardeners are now handling questions about home lawn and plant care from 9 a.m.-noon, Tuesdays, at 831-2667. These hours will remain in effect through March 10.

Blood drive
Sigma Chi and Alpha Chi Omega are sponsoring a Blood Bank of Delaware blood drive from 11 a.m.-5 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday, Nov. 18-19, in the Rodney Room of the Perkins Student Center.

NYC getaway

Friday, Nov. 14, is the deadline for the New York City getaway, scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 3, and sponsored by the University of Delaware Women's Club.
