Introduction to Supervision

This program is for new supervisors with less than one year of experience and those preparing to move into a supervisory position within six months. Employees will examine how a supervisory role differs from a non-supervisory position, the eff ects of personal power vs. positional power, the importance of self-development and networking activities to growth as a supervisor.

Performance appraisal

Basic Defensive Driving

The six-hour presentation of the National Safety Council's Driver Improvement Program includes crash-avoidance techniques based on the standard accident prevention formula of professional drivers, rules of the road and safe driving practices.< p> Note: There is a $20 fee for this class. Advanced Defensive Driving

"Coaching the Experienced Driver" is for those with several years of driving experience but who may need to freshen up their driving skills. Employees who complete the program receive a 15 percent discount on insurance (not in addition to the 10 percent from basic defensive driving).

Vehicle Passenger Safety

The 1996 Delaware State Police annual statistics report that in over 20,000 automobile accidents in 1996, the ocurrence of injury was reduced by 28 percent when the occupant was restrained. Workshop will raise awareness on the proper use of oc cupant protection systems.

Service Success!

Labor Relations Training Series

This series of six workshops is designed to provide managers and other supervisory personnel with an overview of current labor and employment issues. These sessions are geared toward personnel with all levels of experience in the labor managem ent area. This session will provide participants with an overview of state labor laws, wage and hour issues and discipline and termination practices.
