Food drive a success

The first campus canned food drive, associated with the
national Make a Difference Day campaign, collected more than
1,155 pounds of food for the Food Bank of Delaware.
The collection occurred before and during Parents Day, with
food also being collected at Delaware Stadium prior to the
football game against James Madison University.
The goal, to have the largest canned food drive in the
history of the University, was met and all segments of the
University community were involved.
Make a Difference Day, initiated by USA Weekend and by the
Points of Light Foundation, is a national call to action for
volunteers.
