Interlibrary Loan Service

Interlibrary loan service extends the collections of
libraries throughout the nation and the world. All University of
Delaware faculty, staff and students may request that books be
borrowed or photocopies be obtained of materials not owned by the
U of D Library. The Library funds this service and users are not
charged.
To request interlibrary loan, use the electronic
interlibrary loan form available via the Library World Wide Web
page which is located at http://www.lib.udel.edu or use a printed
form available from the Library Interlibrary Loan office. The
electronic form is listed under "Interlibrary Loan" and also
under "Online Forms." Effective use of technology and reciprocal
service agreements enable the Library to obtain photocopies of
materials within a matter of a few days in many cases. Obtaining
books is dependent of the book's availability at another library
and may take somewhat longer. Interlibrary loan is dependent on
other libraries and vendors, so response time can vary. Every
attempt is made to obtain materials as quickly as possible.
