Making It Work

I was recruited by a friend to become involved in the
Delaware affiliate of the American Heart Association. As a board
member, I help establish policy as well as plan and conduct
educational program and fund-raising events.
"It's important to let people know that heart disease, which
remains the nation's No. 1 killer, is preventable and treatable
and that education and research have had a definite impact.
"It's satisfying seeing the progress made in research and
observing the interest and enthusiasm of volunteers who work so
hard to make our activities successful."
