Costume sale
The Professional Theatre Training Program will hold a
Fantasy Halloween Costume Sale from 2-7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 18,
and 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 19, in Room 112 Hartshorn
Hall.
Sale items range from masks, hat and helmets to coats,
skirts, gowns and character outfits. The price range is from $1-$30,
and payment must be made in cash or by check.

Travel awards
Applications are being accepted on a continuing basis (with
reviews four times per fiscal year) for International Travel
Awards. During the current academic year, reviews will occur Oct.
18, Dec. 13, March 14 and May 30.
The maximum amount is $200. Guidelines and applications for
the awards are available in department offices and from
international programs and special sessions.

Library hours
The Morris Library will maintain regular fall semester
hours-8 a.m.-midnight-on the University holiday scheduled for
Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 5. Special Collections will be open
from 9 a.m.-8 p.m.
The agriculture, chemistry and marine studies branch
libraries will be open from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. The physics library
will be closed.
Help needed
Volunteers are needed to help build a playground in
Townsend, Del., for residents of the Middletown-Odessa-Townsend
(MOT) area.
The building will take place during three shifts-8 a.m.-
noon, 12:30-5 p.m. and 5:30-9:30 p.m.-from Oct. 10-13, at the
Townsend Elementary School, just west of Route 896, about six
miles south of Middletown.
Lunch and dinner will be provided to volunteers. For

Practicing Spanish
HOLA, the Latino student group, is sponsoring a Spanish
conversation group at noon, Wednesdays, Oct. 23, Nov. 13 and 27
and Dec. 11, at the Deer Park Restaurant.
Members of the public are invited to attend and practice
Spanish-speaking skills.

Book drive
In celebration of Make a Difference Day, the Student Health
Service is sponsoring a book drive through Oct. 25.
New and used children's books, for ages infant through 5
years, can be dropped off any time at the Student Health Service
in Laurel Hall.
They will be donated to READ-ALOUD Delaware, a non-profit
corporation dedicated to the elimination of illiteracy in
Delaware.

Self-help groups
The Faculty/Staff Assistance Program offers several self-
help groups designed to provide education, support and
encouragement by sharing information and experiences among
individuals involved or interested in a common issue.
These self-help groups are held in the Faculty/Staff
