Vietnam photos in Georgetown
"A River Runs Through It: Daily Life in the Mekong Delta" is
the title of an exhibition of photos from southern Vietnam on
display from Oct. 16 through Nov. 27 at the Higher Education
Building in Georgetown. The photos were taken by Mark McLeod,
history.
The exhibition features 24 color photos taken during a
summer 1996 trip through southern Vietnam.
The exhibit is sponsored by the Division of Continuing
Education and Outreach Programs.

'Quilt Songbook' concert planned
In honor of the Names Project AIDS Memorial Quilt display in
Washington, D.C., UD faculty member Patrick Evans, baritone, and
faculty accompanist Julie Nishimura, piano, will perform a
concert of songs from The AIDS Quilt Songbook at 2:30 p.m.,
Friday, Oct. 11, in the Loudis Recital Hall of the Amy E. du Pont
Music Building.
The event is a benefit for the AIDS projects of Wilmington
Ministry of Caring.
In lieu of an admission charge, donations will be accepted.

Art History Club to hold tea social
The Art History Club will hold a tea social from 3:30-5:30
p.m., Thursday, Oct. 17, in the basement of Old College.
The public is invited to enjoy refreshments and meet
informally with art history faculty and students. Bryant Tolles,
museum studies, will discuss careers in art history and art
conservation.

Women in sports focus of event
The Delaware Women's Alliance for Sport and Fitness Inc.
will hold a career day for female athletes who have an interest
in pursuing a career in sports or in sports related fields.
A panel of representatives from broadcasting, sports
medicine, professional umpiring, sports administration, coaching
and sports marketing will make presentations.
The free, public event is scheduled from 11:30 a.m.-1:30
p.m., Sunday, Oct. 13, in the Bob Carpenter Center.

Activist, author to speak Oct. 17
Mab Segrest, author and activist will speak at 7:30 p.m.,
Thursday, Oct. 17, in Room 140 Smith Hall about "Strengthening
Our Community: Fighting Racism and Homophobia."

Fundraiser set for UNICEF campaign
A nationwide fundraising campaign is scheduled Friday and
Saturday, Oct. 11 and 12, in support of UNICEF's worldwide
activities. The event also marks UNICEF's 50th anniversary
celebration.
Students may donate meals, FLEX or points and also give
checks or cash, directly to UNICEF, during regular meal hours in
Kent, Rodney, Russell and Pencader dining halls.
