Marketing papers sought for session
Prospective participants are invited to present papers and
organize special panels for the Academy of Marketing Science's
eighth World Marketing Congress, to be held next June 24-27 at
the Crown Princess Hotel in Kuala Lampur, Malaysia.
Faculty members from various schools in different regions of
the world will meet to share their latest research in marketing
and related fields. The meeting also will provide a venue for
academicians around the world to exchange information and ideas
on research and teaching and establish and strengthen networks
among business faculty as well.

15. Decisions on papers and special panels will be made by Jan.

and tour information will be available Feb. 15.
Choreo-poem/play in Pearson Hall
A choreo-poem about hope and change, entitled Black Man
Rising, will be performed at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 2, at
Pearson Hall auditorium.
Written by James H. Chapmyn, the play celebrates the
strength, resourcefulness and resilience of the African-American
male. Black Man Rising empowers audiences to see beyond
stereotypes of black men and looks deeply at the foundation of
power that has kept so many African-American men focused and
alive. Characters include an involved father, a struggling
student and many others.
The cast includes R. Lawrence Jankins, who has appeared in
such movies as Teachers and The Jesse Owens Story; Noel Rogers, a
former gang member and drug abuser; and D. "Jeffro" Johnson, an
actor with many stage credits.
Tickets are $1 for students and $4 for the general public
and may be purchased at all UD box offices and through
Ticketmaster.
The performance is sponsored by the Cultural Programming
Advisory Board and the Center for Black Culture at the
University.
Conference focus on being proactive
A teleconference on "Taking a Proactive Approach to a Campus
Crisis," will be broadcast from 2-4 p.m., Monday, Sept. 30, in
140 Smith Hall.
For those unable to attend the teleconference, the program,
sponsored by the Office of Student Life, also will be broadcast
on Channel 51 at the same time.
Inner Harbor trip scheduled Oct. 12
A bus trip to Baltimore's Inner Harbor is scheduled for
Saturday, Oct. 12. The bus will leave from Trabant University
Center at 8 a.m. and will arrive at the Inner Harbor at 9:30 a.m.
The trip is open itinerary, and participants are on their own for
the day.
The bus will leave Baltimore at 8 p.m. and return to campus
by 9:30 p.m.
The cost is $20 for full-time undergraduates with ID and $25
for others. Tickets will be on sale beginning Sept. 30 until
noon, Oct. 11 in Room 218 Trabant University Center. The event is
sponsored by the Student Activities and Program Office.
