Career services' video wins award

There is a new diamond-shaped trophy, a first-place award for "Best Video Practices," on the mantle in the lobby of Raub Hall, home of the Career Services Center (CSC).

The award was presented to staff from Career Services during the spring meeting of the Middle Atlantic Association of Colleges and Employers for a five-minute video that presents an overview of the Career Services Center's programs and services.

Developed by UD Media Services in 1995, it was submitted to the competition by Dave Berilla, CSC associate director.

Elizabeth Rayer, St. Joseph's University and a member of the awards selection committee, praised the UD video's upbeat, to-the-point format.

"The mix of music, pictures and narration," she said, "keeps the viewers interested and sends the message that Career Services is a professional yet fun place for finding help with careers."

Interested faculty, staff and students may borrow the CSC video for classroom use or for showings at UD and community events. For more information, call Steve Sciscione at 831-8479.
