The 1997-98 tuition for full-time undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Delaware has been raised by 3.3 percent for Delawareans and 4.4 percent for non-residentsÐthe lowest percentage of increase in more than a decade.
The new annual tuition rates are $4,120 for Delawareans, up $130 over last year, and $11,750 for non-residents, up $500.
"The University of Delaware is truly one of the best education bargains in the nation, and that fact is increasingly recognized and noted by others," University President David P. Roselle said. "The University is committed to providing at a reasonable cos t the highest possible quality of service to our students and their families," he said.
"UD is even a better bargain for Delawareans this year," Roselle said, "with significant increases in financial aid available from the University, as well as from MBNA America under its new scholarship program."
Under the MBNA initiative,116 Delawareans will attend UD this fall. In addition, University students will receive approximately $62 million in financial aid from the University and federal government, plus extra amounts from private sources.
Full-time graduate tuition is the same as that for undergraduates, with the exception of those pursuing the master of business administration (MBA) degree. New full-time regular MBA tuition is $5,190 for Delaware residents, an increase of 3.3 percent ($17 0), and $11,750 for non-residents, an increase of 4.4 percent ($500).
