                        Newark Nite on June 14

     Newark Nite is this Saturday. The annual event,
sponsored by the Newark Business Association and the city of
Newark, in cooperation with the University of Delaware, is
one of the season's most popular events.
     Scheduled from 5-9:30 p.m., Saturday, June 14, with
raindate on June 21, the festivities feature a variety of
activities and programs.
     Food, dancing and shopping will be available up and
down the street, which will be closed to traffic. Antique
autos, jugglers and a magician will be part of the scene, as
well as the Newark Deltones Barber Shop Quartet and
children's activities.
     Three stages will present a variety of entertainment.
Performing in front of Speedy Muffler will be Mike Mason &
Southern Pride from 5-7 p.m. and Dallas & the Stillwater
Band, from 7:30-9:30 p.m.
     The Condors are scheduled from 5-7 p.m. and Jah Roots
is scheduled from 7:30-9:30 p.m., both at the corner of Main
and Academy streets.
     Scheduled to perform on North Main Street in front of
the UD Mall are Blain Newnum & Bluegrass Friends from 5-6:15
p.m., Larry Unthank from 6:30-8 p.m. and Vic Sadot's Plante
Folle from 8:15-9:30 p.m.
     Free parking will be available in Newark Parking
Authority lots and in the UD parking garage on West Main
Street.
