Wearable art exhibition
Poisson Rouge, " modeled by junior Corrie Sudol, will
be featured in an exhibition of wearable paintings by Jane
Matranga, textiles, design and consumer economics, at the
Rehoboth Art League, 12 Dodds Lane, Rehoboth Beach, from
June 6-July 9.
The league's hours are from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Mondays
through Saturdays, and 1-4 p.m., Sundays. A reception, which
is open to the public, will be held from 5-7 p.m., Friday,
June 6.
Matranga, who holds a 1997 fellowship from the Delaware
State Arts Council, will have a solo exhibition in the
league's Ventures Gallery.
On display will be several examples of Matranga's
works, including a coat featuring a wall covered with
graffiti and another with a country barn theme, a linen suit
that plays homage to a surrealist artist, sleeveless vests
with landscapes, and velvet evening tops featuring
portraits.
