Direct deposit for new employees
Most University employees find that direct deposit is
an easy and efficient method of receiving their paychecks.
While this payment method remains voluntary for current
full-time employees, all full-time persons hired after June
30-including faculty, professionals and salaried and hourly
staff-will receive their pay only by direct deposit.
In addition, current and newly hired temporary
employees (undergraduate and graduate students, persons on
S-contract and miscellaneous wage employees) also will be
paid by direct deposit.
This policy change will be implemented as of July 1.
Newly hired full-time and temporary employees will be
required to submit a direct deposit authorization form
together with the regular start notice paperwork to the
Personnel Records Office before a paycheck will be
deposited.
Temporary employees who are currently on UD's payroll
will receive notice of this new policy change, together
with a direct deposit form. Those involved in the
recruitment and hiring process should inform applicants of
this policy change.
Direct deposit authorization forms can be secured
either from the Payroll Office, at 831-2177, or the
Personnel Records Office, at 831-1556.
There may be special circumstances when a request for
a waiver to the policy is necessary. For example, employees
who have relocated to the area and have yet to establish
bank accounts may seek such a waiver for up to two pay
periods. There also may be cases when employment is
expected to last less than four months. In this case a
waiver may be considered. Direct deposit waiver forms are
available from the Payroll or the Personnel Records
offices.

disbursments, at 831-2174 or Anna Bloch, personnel records,
at 831-1234.
