Rocking the vote

MTV brought its custom-designed "Choose or Lose" bus to the
campus for an impromptu political awareness rally Sept. 12. The
bus, which has been touring the country since January, is
designed to encourage young people to register to vote and to
provide information about the upcoming presidential election.
MTV's "Choose or Lose '96" promotion also features on-air
programs, including issue-oriented news specials, interviews with
the candidates and weekly updates throughout the campaign. During
the MTV visit, a London film crew from the BBC shot a report for
"Correspondent," its premier foreign affairs program, which airs
in Great Britain and throughout the world. Veteran correspondent
Charles Wheeler, who has been covering America for the last 30
years, reported the story filmed in Delaware, including
interviews with two UD students. The segment will be the lead
story for one of the programs looking at the attitudes, hopes and
fears of U.S. young people as they head into the next century.
