AWARDS
     
     Mica Corradin, continuing education, received an award of
excellence from the National University Continuing Education
Association, Region II, for the program, National Institute for
Public Finance, which was cited for quality, effectiveness,
innovation and contribution to adult and continuing higher
education.

     Conrado Gempesaw, food and resource economics, received a
distinguished member award from the Northeastern Agricultural and
Resource Economics Association, in recognition of recent
professional achievements and service to the organization.

     Two programs prepared by information technologies staff
received third place awards in the ACM SIGUCCS education and
training competition: Ann Amsler, "Preparing Documents for the
World Wide Web"; and Suzanne Nanis and Susan Allmendinger, "Check
It Out! Four Easy Steps to Connect to UD's Electronic Campus."

     J. Thomas Sims, plant and soil sciences, won a research
award from the Northeastern branch, American Society of Agronomy,
at its fall meeting at Cornell University. Sims also was recently
elected a fellow of the Soil Science Society and the American
Society of Agronomy.
 

SERVICE 
     
     Donald E. Conlon, business administration, has been
appointed program chair for the 1997 meeting of the International
Association for Conflict Management to be held in Bonn,
Germany.
