                      Employee campaign to begin

The 1997-98 UD Employee Campaign will begin in early
May, and brochures are being sent to employees' homes.
According to Joseph Bradley, development, "The goal of
the Employee Campaign is to increase the number of faculty
and staff helping to ensure the University's continued
success through private contributions and to promote a
better understanding of the important role philanthropy
plays on the UD campus."
More than 450 faculty and staff have contributed more
than $370,000 thus far during the current 1996-97 campaign.
"Contributions are voluntary," he said, "and can be
made through payroll deduction, checks or credit cards."
All gifts to the annual campaign can be designated for
a specific department, program or initiative that the
contributor considers special. Bradley stressed that 100
percent of a designated contribution goes to the specified
department, program or activity. Past gifts have been sent
to a wide range of recipients from sporting teams to music
ensembles to academic departments and cultural centers.
