Eyman earns All-American honor
Junior Brad Eyman was one of five college players to be
named to the Successful Farming Magazine All-American Farm
Team for baseball.
Selected from college nominations by a panel of writers
and college athletics administrators, team members must be
in good academic standing, be a key team player and live or
work on a farm or ranch.
Eyman, a designated hitter, earned second team America
East All-Conference honors and first team All-East honors in
1996 when he batted .387 with seven home runs and 47 runs
batted in, leading the Blue Hens to the America East title
and a berth in the National Collegiate Athletic Association
(NCAA) Midwest Regionals.
This season, Eyman is batting .331 with six home runs
and 23 runs batted in for the Blue Hen team, whose record is
36-5. The team was recently ranked 21st in the Collegiate
Baseball poll.
A plant and soil sciences major, Eyman works on a dairy
farm in Maryland during the summers and off-season.
The All-American farm teams for each sport are
sponsored by Successful Farming, and Frontier and Clarity
herbicides. Former UD football standout, Shannon Trostle was
named to the All-American team in 1995.
