Park by Phone registration for students begins next week

Starting next week, students are able to register their
cars for next year by telephone, during the Park by Phone
open enrollment period.
Beginning the week of April 28, student registration
requests and lot assignments will be filled on a first-come,
first-served basis. Every effort will be made to assign lots
to students close to where they reside on campus.
Resident students will receive their individualized
registration packets, based on their current registrations,
at their campus addresses, and commuters' packets will be
sent to their local addresses.
Park by Phone is designed to improve service and reduce
the need for waiting in lines, especially during the first
hectic days of the fall semester. It will enable a large
majority of the 7,000 student vehicles to be registered in
advance.
To use the Park by Phone interactive voice response
system, which allows registration for parking permits
through a keypad on a Touch-Tone phone, students will call
837-0776 and be guided through the process.
A caller will need his or her Social Security Number
and Personal Identification Number (PIN). For information on
securing or changing a PIN, call 831-2273.
Students should complete the worksheet before calling
the registration phone number, since it may be necessary to
key in such information as a vehicle's year, make, model,
color, license number and state of registration, as well as
the type of permit requested and payment method.
Car pool permits and one-day permits are not included
under the Park by Phone system.
Faculty and staff registration packets will be
delivered to campus addresses next month.
For more information, contact Parking Services in the
Department of Public Safety at 831-1184.
