           Geis research conference in Trabant Center May 1
                                   
     The Geis Student Research on Women Conference, a
program to provide recognition of student excellence in
research, will be held from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Thursday,
May 1, in Rooms 209/211 of the Trabant University Center.
     The program will begin with a welcome from Beth
Haslett, director of the Women's Studies Interdisciplinary
Program.
     The morning session will explore the field of
humanities, and the afternoon session will focus on social
issues. Each 15-minute presentation will be followed by a 5-
minute discussion.
     After a reception and refreshments for participants
and the audience at 4 p.m., the graduate and undergraduate
winners will be announced.
     The conference is sponsored by the Office of Women's
Affairs and the Women's Studies Interdisciplinary Program,
in cooperation with the Commission on the Status of Women
and the Office of the President.
