Fashion, design grads to share their experiences
Two 1982 graduates from the Department of Textiles,
Design and Consumer Economics who have made their mark in
the fashion industry will speak on "Creating Career Paths
for Women" on April 23.
Lisa Rodger Rissetto and Patricia Kelly Holland will
make two presentations-the first will be in Room 005
Kirkbride Lecture Hall from 2:30-3:30 p.m., and the other
from 7:30 p.m.-9 p.m. in the Rodney Room of the Perkins
Student Center.
The two women will address such topics as where to look
for career opportunities, how to create a career path, where
to start and how to fit into the corporate environment.
Rissetto is vice president and general manager of G.
Hensler & Co., which manufactures private label accessories
for large-scale specialty retailers, including the Gap,
Armani A/X, J. Crew and Nordstrom. Her responsibilities
include management, product development, sales
presentations, costing, sourcing and production of handbags
and belts. She has been fiscally responsible for building
the annual business to $20 million in less than five years.
Previously, Rissetto served as general product manager
of the accessories division at Esprit de Corp, director of
product development at Phillippe Handbags and market
representative for Associated Dry Goods.
Holland is senior vice president of the Bandolino
Division of Nine West Group. She has responsibility for
Bandolino footwear, including the management of the
national sales team, the customer service team and field
merchandising associates She works closely with design,
merchandising and operations to ensure the quality of the
product and the product selection from Brazil, Spain and
Italy. The annual sales volume is targeted between $80-90
million.
Before her current position, Holland was vice president
of YFA Bandolino. She also has served as sales manager of
the accessory division of Esprit de Corp, and as vice
president of Chaus Petites. She began her career with
Woodward & Lothrop department store in Washington, D.C.
