Lunch and Learn
The Faculty and Staff Assistance Program offer "Lunch
and Learn" programs to University employees. These sessions
are designed to assist individuals in maintaining a healthy
holistic lifestyle-mentally, emotionally, spiritually and
physically. All workshops are held from noon to 1 p.m.
Minimum enrollment is needed for each program, but pre-
enrollment required.
A presentation on "Relationships," on Wednesday, April
16, in Room 206, Trabant University Center, will provide
information about what everyone should know and what
individuals can do about abusive relationships. Participants
will learn how to recognize the signs of abuse and violence
in an intimate relationship and where to go for help. The
program will be presented by Deborale Richardson-Bouie, a
domestic violence educator with a primary focus toward
adolescents. Registration deadline is April 14.
A series of six lunchtime programs on "Positive
Parenting" will be offered from noon-1:30 p.m., Fridays,
April 18-May 23, in Room 206, Trabant University Center. The
sessions will focus on employing sensitive and sensible
approaches to raising responsible, self-assured and happy
children. There also will be discussions on the causes of
low esteem and its effects upon children.
The series will be conducted by Carla London, a life
skills educator for the Chester County Department of
Children, Youth and Families, and Monica Smith of
Transitional Support Services, a child advocacy
organization.
The inability to sleep, constant fatigue, poor
concentration, feeling keyed up and other symptoms might be
warning signs that you need a vacation. "Vacation Planning"
suggests that a planned vacation is a sensible and painless
approach to stress. Cheryl Peni, of Ambassador Travel at UD,
will provide advice planning for trips, asking the right
questions, getting the best values and avoiding bargain
vacation pitfalls.
The presentation is scheduled for Wednesday, May 21, in
Room 206, Trabant University Center. A special door prize
will be awarded. Registration deadline is May 19. Please
