Facilities employees receive RADIO WATCH training
New Castle County Police Officer Claudine L'Haridon
(above) presents information to UD employees involved in the
RADIO WATCH program during a campus training session.
Representatives of Delmarva Power and UD Public Safety
also presented refresher training March 26 to University
employees involved in the RADIO WATCH community program. The
two training sessions included workers from UD's skilled
trades, building services, grounds and movers divisions.
These staff members, all with two-way radios, are
involved in the RADIO WATCH program, first implemented
through Facilities Management in the spring of 1995.
Facilities Management vehicles display RADIO WATCH
decals, and personnel have been instructed on the proper
ways to report suspicious activity, street crimes, safety
hazards, accidents, fires and other emergency situations.
Over the past two years, UD employees have reported
traffic accidents, personal injuries and construction
equipment mishaps.
Established by Delmarva Power in 1983, RADIO WATCH has
been adopted by private businesses and governmental agencies
across the country.
