                     April concerts in Loudis hall
     
     Music department faculty and guest artists will present
several concerts in early April in the Loudis Recital Hall
of the Amy E. du Pont Music Building.
     Michelle Stebleton, associate professor of music at
Florida State University, will be featured in a horn recital
at 8 p.m., Monday, April 7. The free public program will
feature works by Mozart, Schumann, Buyanovsky and Jacob.
     She will be accompanied on piano by Carolyn Bridger.
     Several music department faculty will perform during
the April Follies Gala, a benefit concert for the Music
Scholarship Fund, at 8 p.m., Tuesday, April 8.
     Faculty will appear in unexpected, lighthearted roles
and put a playful twist on the art of serious music.
     Among the artist scheduled to appear are Patrick Evans,
Julie Nishimura, Marie Robinson, Harvey Price, Cindy Carr,
Michael Arenson, Russell Murray, Jay Hildebrandt, David
Herman, Jon Conrad, Larry Peterson, Claire Nanis, Peter
McCarthy, Robert Hogenson, John Sarro, Robert Streckfuss,
Heidi Sarver, Ruth Oatman, the Del'Arte Quintet and guest
artist Fleda Jackson, English.
     Tickets, at $15 for adults, $10 for seniors/ UD
faculty, staff and alumni and $5 for students, are available
in advance at the Bob Carpenter Center and Trabant
University Center box offices. They also will be available
at the door.
     A free public concert featuring Sonata for Two Pianos
and Percussion by Bela Bartok will be presented at 8 p.m.,
Wednesday, April 9, in the Loudis Recital Hall of the Amy E.
du Pont Music Building.
     Featured will be pianist Marie-Christine Delbeau and
percussionist James Ancona, of the Blue Hen Marching Band
and director of the Basketball Pep Band.
     Guest artist Linda Henderson, pianist, vocal coach and
accompanist, will join her husband, Harvey Price,
percussionist and director of the UD Percussion Ensemble.
     Larry Peterson, musicologist, will lecture on Bartok's
arrangement of the sonata.
     At 8 p.m., Friday, April 11, pianist Michael Steinberg
will perform works by Robert Schumann and Johannes Brahms
during a free public concert.
     A graduate of the Juilliard School of Music, Steinberg
has performed internationally, and he is a recording artist
under the Elysium label.
