                  Brazilian dancers in Mitchell Hall

Alma em Agua will present the latest sounds from Brazil
at 2 p.m., Sunday, April 6, in Mitchell Hall.
This vibrant, young quintet from Brazil's northeast
blends Indian dance rhythms with regional folk music,
barracuda, rock and jazz to produce an explosive, yet
haunting, musical experience.
Alma em Agua, which means "soul in water," captures the
spirit of Brazil's native Indios with its soulful melodies,
ritualistic rhythms and sheer exuberance.
Using electric violin, guitar, mandolin, caxixi, elu,
whistles, vocals, flute and percussion, Alma em Agua
transports listeners across Brazil, from the dense jungles
of the Amazon to the festive streets of Carnival.
Individual tickets are $15 for the general public, $10
for UD faculty, staff, alumni and senior citizens and $6 for
students and children.
For tickets or more information, call UD1-HENS.
