International visitors
Representatives from Hungary's Enterprise 2000
Foundation visited the Center for Economic Education and
Entrepreneurship on March 4 to learn about economic
education in schools firsthand. Shown are (standing from
left) center director James O'Neill, interpreter Tibor
Kovari Jr., Guya Schin Toth; and (seated, from left) Tibor
Kovari Sr., who also serves as counselor for Hungary's
Ministry of Industry and Trade, and Ferencne Guyucsak. The
group visited a mini-society program at Stubbs School,
observed a classroom where students were developing a pet
care service as an economics project at Burnett Middle
School and visited the student-run bank at Wilmington High
School.
"UD was selected to serve as host of the group because
of the visitors' interest in introducing economics and
entrepreneurship into schools in Hungary. They first came on
campus to learn about the center and how it functions and
then visited classrooms to see programs in action," O'Neill
said.
From Delaware, the group was scheduled to visit New
York City.
