'Webmaster' certificate available
In response to growing public interest in Internet
issues, UD's Division of Continuing Education is offering a
new Webmaster Certificate Program.
A webmaster is an individual who designs, creates and
maintains information pages on the World Wide Web (WWW), the
enhanced portion of the Internet that supports graphics,
sound and animation in addition to text.
The Webmaster Certificate Program features a
multifaceted approach to develop students' webmaster skills,
including workshops and hands-on seminars in computer
laboratories. Students can complete the program in three-to-
five months.
The program's integrated, sequential curriculum
consists of six courses: "Introduction to the Internet,"
"Ethics of the Internet and World Wide Web," "Introduction
to Multimedia," "Web Page Design and Layout," "Web Page
Authoring" and "Web Servers and Networks."
Participants in the certificate program gain in-depth
knowledge of the Internet and the web that can enhance their
value at their places of employment and create career-
changing opportunities, a continuing education spokesperson
said.
Program courses are offered on an ongoing basis
throughout the year on the University's Newark and
Wilmington campuses and are immediately available.
